How many students are in each SPARK class?

Class sizes are limited to twelve students to ensure personal attention from the teacher and ample space to work.

Can my child enroll after a session has started?

In most cases, the answer is YES!  Occasionally, a class session will be include a project that has many steps spread out over several weeks.  In this case, late enrollment isn’t practical.  Feel free to call (937) 640-3423 to inquire.

Are parents required to stay during the class period?

With the exception of classes that are designed for child and caregiver, parents are NOT required to stay while their child’s class is in session.  Children should be escorted to the studio by an adult who stays until the beginning of the class hour.  Once the class has started, parents who opt to stay are welcome to wait in our lounge area. Please note that curbside drop off/pick up is not acceptable for safety reasons.  Children are expected to be picked up promptly when class concludes.
Please note that our 5 week classes for ages 3 and up are designed to foster independence, self reliance, and individuality through art making.  This is achieved when parents allow children to work freely and independently.  For families that want to make art together, we recommend our cooperative “Side by Side” classes.

Does SPARK host special events such as birthday parties?

Yes!  SPARK parties mean unforgettable fun!  We provide the linens, tableware,a take home art project for each guest, and a SPARK t-shirt for the birthday child that all the guests can decorate.  We can also coordinate pizza, beverages, cake, and custom dinnerware for an additional fee.  Most importantly, SPARK offers flexibility and will work with parents to host an art-rageous party.  For more information, contact us through our website, or call us to book your party!

Does SPARK offer one day workshops?

Weekend workshops are offered for a variety of age groups.  This is an excellent way to get acquainted with SPARK and see just how much fun we have at the studio.  From time to time, we also offer a PARENTS NIGHT OUT on a Friday evening from 6:30 – 9:00 for a flat fee.  Parents can rest assured knowing their child is in a fun, safe environment while kids enjoy a pizza dinner and awesome art projects.

My child is busy with sports or other activities… do you offer drop in times?

Absolutely.  We understand that kids are busy these days, and scheduling a 5 week class is not always possible.  We offer drop in hours on a regular basis.  Please check our schedule for classes which denote drop-ins for the offering times and projects.

What are the credentials of the instructors?

First and foremost, teachers at SPARK are nurturing and knowledgeable artists who are committed to art education for your young children.  Teachers also have an educational background in either Fine Arts and/or Art Education, have substantial experience teaching preK – 8th grade art classes, and are trained in First Aid and CPR.  Assistants in the studio are also carefully selected and have an art background as well as experience working with young children.  Many are currently working towards their Art Education degree.
